Alenka European Foods - Vancouver

Lovely Eastern European shop owned by a kind family. They have a variety of items from pickled vegetables to cured fish to sweets, newspapers, teas herbs. We stop here every time we hit the mainland.

Came in to buy canned cod liver. Need those omega 3's. First time coming in after reading google reviews, it wasn't very promising. It's time for an update. The owners are so nice! The store has so much love and attention to cleanliness, layout etc...Baked goods were house made, dumplings were well stocked. Pickles galore! I'm looking forward to coming back when I've learned a bit more on Russian cuisine.

The store and staff were wonderful! It was filled with delicious items in every corner. My husband, who is from Ukraine, enjoyed stocking up on fish, dumplings, and chocolates. He always finds his childhood favorites and is always so happy!

The restaurant has a welcoming staff and offers a scrumptious selection of Russian and Eastern European dishes.

I love their incredible offering of Russian chocolate. Small, individually wrapped chocolates of varying flavours and shapes. Buy them by weight. I pile them into one of those fancy gift bags (a dollar at the dollar store) which makes a great and unique gift.
