The food was very tasty and quite unique compared to most Indian restaurants in Vancouver. I would definitely recommend this to others! The dosa was flavourful but so was the curries, which is not the case in most restaurants
Delicious food but expect a wait. We stumbled upon this restaurant and were the first customers for dinner at around 7pm. The chicken masala dosa, chicken biryani, and garlic naan were all very tasty. The food is freshly prepared with care and bursting with flavor. We were fortunate to arrive early as we had to wait approximately 30 minutes for the biryani, 45 minutes for the dosa, and close to an hour for the naan. Many customers who arrived after us did not receive their food before we left. We recommend this place, but suggest ordering ahead to avoid long wait times.
We started with the Sambar Vadai, which was fresh and warm but lacked flavor. The Chicken Masala dosa was the highlight, with a crispy crepe filled with a tasty blend of curry potato and chicken, accompanied by three chutneys. The Chicken Biryani was also flavorful and came in a large portion that was enough for two meals. For dessert, we tried the Kesari, a sweet rice pudding in a small portion as they were out of Gulab Jamun. The service was a bit slow, but that could have been due to our late lunch timing. We plan on returning for dinner and would recommend you give Ananda Bhavan a try. We will definitely be visiting again soon.
Delicious! We went for lunch and ordered the meat meal. We were pleasantly surprised by the great food and the generous portions. The refills kept coming throughout our meal, and we left feeling completely stuffed. The bill came to $20 for both of us. The restaurant just opened a few weeks ago, and we hope it sticks around because we will definitely return!
