Bandidas Taqueria - Vancouver

I first reviewed Bandidas 9 years agoAt that point, I was not yet a father, only a gourmand.

Mexican-brunch-vegan food all jumbled into one! Bandidas does fusion incredibly well.

Bandidas offers honest food! I always feel good after my Bandidas fix, and this is coming from one who loves meat, poultry, and fish.

Heerlijke verse ingrediënten, leuke sfeer ook qua interieur. Had zelf de mix van drie taco's gekozen. Ook heerlijk dat het helemaal vegetarisch waardoor de lunch minder snel zwaar valt. Service was relaxed en snel op een goeie manier. Echt een aanrader voor deze buurt.

I went to Bandidas for my first time a few days ago and met a friend for lunch. I'm vegetarian and she has some dietary restrictions so the menu was a perfect fit for the both of us. Walking in, I noticed how busy it was but our service wasn't affected. I learned the restaurant is expanding (which means they must be doing something right, right?) First glance at the menu and I was pleased with the extensive choices for both vegans and vegetarians. But carnivores don't worry; there are plenty of options for beans and other protein sources like tofu of tempeh. There is a wide variety of drinks available and house specialty drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). I had the house-made ginger beer and it was refreshingly delicious.We ordered a chips, salsa and guacamole to start. The house made salsa and guacamole was delicious. I can be pretty picky with salsas but this stuff was perfect. It had a bit of a bite but nothing so harsh you couldn't eat another bite. The guacamole was fresh, chunky and the perfect treat for a warm summer day. The place was packed but the service was great - we never had to wait for the server, she was present and attentive. There was a mix up with my friend's entrée order and she resolved the misunderstanding. Within minutes my friend had her new entrée at the table. One thing I liked about the menu is the ability to size up the meal as you want. You can easily add an additional taco with a minimal charge.Overall, I would absolutely go back. Highly recommended.
