Update: In a vegan group someone says that the vegan option is not actually vegan (meat broth) according to an employee that works there. I am down grading this to 1 star. Eww! Go to Chau or Kokomo for fully vegan laksa. Updated from previous review on 2021-08-04 Updated from previous review on 2021-08-31 Updated from previous review on 2021-08-31
My dad loves this restaurant and I am so grateful that there are vegan options for me to have when my dad wants to eat here. The vegan roti canai is super fresh, crispy but still a bit chewy in the middle SO GOOD. The curry sauce it comes to dip with is very yummy. The vegan laksa is very flavourful and delicious. Its pretty oily so it’s not something I’d have all the time but definitely one of the most authentic vegan laksa’s I’ve had.
Vegan laksa was very flavourful and tasty. Seemed very authentic and comparable to laksas I had in Malaysia. Decor inside the restaurant is a bit strange (like a 50’s themed restaurant)?
After hearing great reviews about their laksa, we decided to give this restaurant a try. However, we were left extremely disappointed. The laksa was flavorful and spicy, but it needed a bit more salt. The beef rendang was dry and overly salty. On the bright side, the pineapple fried rice was delicious. Unfortunately, the servers were young and inexperienced, and were not attentive. We had to ask twice for bowls and spoons to share, and waited 15 minutes for them to arrive. By then, our food had gone cold.
I have walked past this restaurant many times and finally decided to try it out with some Indian friends. The Laksa was extremely spicy, the Butter Chicken had a generous amount of chicken, and the Roti Canai must have been good because we never got a chance to try it - it was so popular! We wanted to try the deep-fried banana but unfortunately, they were out.
