Brass Fish Tavern - Vancouver

It was New Year's Eve when I dined at the restaurant and opted for their three-course set menu. I started with the prosciutto and burrata appetizer, which I found to be quite tasty. For the main course, I selected the duck with risotto. Unfortunately, the duck was undercooked and tough, while the risotto was overly salty. I finished my meal with the chocolate mousse for dessert, which was very enjoyable. A two-piece band was playing at 7 PM, and the volume was a bit loud for having dinner conversation. When the bill arrived, I noticed that a 20% gratuity had already been included.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The service was excellent, and the food quality was top-notch. Our server was very attentive, and our drinks were served promptly. A big shout-out to Danielle and Sam for making our visit memorable!

The happy hour menu doesn't offer many vegetarian options. It's a pleasant spot to eat and drink in downtown Vancouver, but it doesn't leave a lasting impression.

Really great spot! The Happy Hour drinks are such a good value for strong, classic cocktails and the food was really good. The only thing that was kind of disappointing was that I feel like we were given one of the if not the worst tables location wise despite having a reservation. We were completely tucked away in the corner at the last high top so didn’t get to experience any of the ambiance etc unless we were walking to the washroom because we were either stairing at the door or brick wall. Will definitely be back, but hopefully at a better table next time.

I had a reservation for 10 persons, and I wanted to add 2 seats, I contacted the restaurant several times, trying to call, trying to send messages on open table, but I didn’t get an answer until 2 hours before my reservation (which was stressful for me and my invitees). When they replied asking about the space, I didn't get a clear or quick answer. I'd expect a large group to have a more meticulous service. We felt a passive-aggressive tone from one of the hosts, and we didn't have enough checking rounds from the waitress handling our table. We kept waiting to request things, and no one came. All my invitees had comments on the service. I will be for sure careful recommending this place to anyone else.
