Curry Hut Indian Bistro - Vancouver

We arrived on a quiet afternoon and were the only patrons in the place. The woman at the cashier welcomed us warmly and took our order, which was pleasant. Unfortunately, the waitress who served us had a terrible attitude; she made us feel unwelcome and treated us like we were a burden. Her demeanor was intimidating and rude. We won't be returning. To make matters worse, the food wasn't even good and was quite overpriced, to be honest.

During my visit to your restaurant, I ordered the shrimp biryani, but it tasted more like tamarind rice rather than the traditional biryani. I kindly request that you prepare and serve dishes as they are described in the menu.

I ordered the 'Chicken Tikka Afgani Meal' from the lunch special, which is available from 11 AM to 2 PM. The portion sizes are a bit smaller considering the price, but I can definitely vouch for the rich, buttery curry that came with the meal. I opted for mild spice and found just a subtle hint of heat. I recommend choosing medium if you’re looking for a real kick. This dish is hands down one of the best I’ve had so far. The naan was standard, but I was pleasantly surprised at how juicy the chicken skewers were, despite their somewhat dry appearance. The restaurant has a cozy, home-like atmosphere, and although the staff was attentive, they were a bit scattered. Different team members approached us multiple times during our visit to confirm our takeaway orders and what each of us had individually ordered.

Ordered a paneer tikka masala, they packed a chicken dish for me. I'm a vegetarian so this wasn't a small deal. They did issue me a refund, but only for the curry. Not the naan, not the taxes not a big deal it's just a couple of but the attitude and the way of handling it has made me write a negative review. I didn't yell at them, i didn't confront them. Customers who act civil even after such a huge mistake aren't respected enough even to be reimbursed for the meal let alone being compensated for the whole ordeal. Not returning to this place ever.

Absolutely delicious food! I was in Vancouver for a week and ended up having food from this restaurant thrice during my stay. The taste and quality was consistent and was liked by all my family members.
