Fritz European Fry House - Vancouver

We ordered the chicken poutine with mango curry aioli and chili aioli at this restaurant. The poutine was delicious - the chicken was tender and flavorful, the gravy was tasty, and the fries were cooked perfectly. It's a great place to try Canadian poutine for both visitors and locals. The dips were more like aioli than chutney, but they were tasty. We preferred the mango curry aioli over the chili.

The poutine itself was very much a traditional Canadian dish, made with local ingredients. Even though I ordered a small portion, it was quite generous and filling, leaving me satisfied for the rest of the afternoon. The gravy was delicious, the chicken had a hint of curry flavor, and there were large chunks of cheese throughout. I appreciated the option to add salt, pepper, vinegar, and other spices to customize the dish to my liking. Overall, I had a positive dining experience at this restaurant. If I were to return for more fries, I would definitely try their Fritz with the special dips on offer.

I have explored numerous poutineries in Downtown Vancouver such as La Belle Patate, Mean Poutine, Smoke's, and Frites, but Fritz European Fry House ranks among my favorites alongside La Belle Patate. Situated in the Granville Entertainment district, Fritz is a cozy poutinerie with limited seating and a convenient walk-up window. They stay open late, closing at 4 am on Fridays and Saturdays, making it the perfect spot for some late-night indulgence, especially after a few drinks.

I visit Fritz each time I visit Vancouver even had it everyday 4x in a row. Make sure to add extra cheese. Makes a huge difference. LOVE their original poutines!
