Golden Phoenix - Vancouver

Went here for birthday dinner because we've been here before and we liked it. Food is still good. The low rating is for the bill. After my friends paid, the servers came back and said the price is wrong and asked for another $30. Friends paid that but I asked to see the menu again to check the price of the soup. It took them a while to bring it. When they did, we checked the price, it was white out and the new amount is $30 more than when we ordered. So even the cashier who printed the original receipt did not know the price has gone up? Because it just went up mid-meal.

Rating for dim sum only. This is a popular, reasonably priced decent quality dim sum restaurant on Broadway Nanaimo in East Vancouver. The seafood congee was very good, as were the spring rolls supreme chow mein, however I found the skin on the haw gau too thick and sticky. The restaurant gets crowded (particularly on weekends) so i recommend going early if you don't want to wait.

Homey, family oriented Chinese restaurant serving all the classics for a Chinese dinner gathering. The honey garlic spareribs were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The pea shoots were very flavourful in the broth served and the seafood was fresh and tender. A very enjoyable dinner. The place was crowded with lineups so it seems quite popular and reliable. All the dishes tasted great.

We always order and eat here. If i could give 0 stars I would. Ordered Peking duck and it was dissapointing and the worst. 10 small pieces of duck. For 72 dollars. When we called the restaurant to follow up they justified it saying that 12 pieces is normal...they gave us 10...the lady we spoke to was so rude and said she didnt care and hung up. Do yourself a favor and don't order the Peking duck from here. Total waste of money they are scamming you. Never ordering this dish from here again. See the picture for reference.

Came here for dinner and ordered their deep friend cod fillet wirh creamy corn saucs and tobiko lobster pate fried rice. Very generous portion and it was more than enough for two people with lots to take back. The deep friend cod pieces were very well made and the were deep fried perfectly.
