This restaurant lives on West Broadway but also downstairs from the Sandbar Restaurant on Granville Island. The Granville Island location could never be called relaxing or luxuriant, but it is smart and efficient. The service is almost too swift, but very friendly and knowledgeable. The sushi is absolutely excellent and almost too big to fit into your mouth. We went by ferry and is an excellent way across False Creek. Both the Sandbar and Hoshi are worth visiting.
We visited Hoshi sushi after a day on the ski slopes so we were hungry! The sashimi was great, the service excellent and the value amazing, 3 of us were full of healthy food for under $40 Canadian. Yum!
It's said to be the best sushi option on West Broadway between MacDonald and Trutch. Booths make dining comfortable, warm and cozy. Tea is served quickly. The menu offers many creative meal options and one of the best variety of creative rolls. I'm not a great fan of mayo and clarified soy, so they hold that back when I ask. The also substitute in or both something to make a 8-slice roll to my specs. I've been eating here for years and can highly recommend Match Rolls as a place to start. Always happy to return.
Not a bad place to grab a quick lunch - very reasonable and fair service, lots of options in the area but still attract a constant crowd. Good selection and taste.
