My friend crawled to try soup dumplings after I saw the food net, and I thought about this place. Exceptional the service was great and we arrived as they were opened on Saturday. The food was great! We ordered 2 soup dumplings, wine... chicken and pot stickers. We were not rushed because the restaurant wasn't full and left happy after 30 minutes full Amd content.
Food never disappoints. As long as no lineup, you can get in and out quite quickly when the food comes right away. All we had so far was great. Seaweed salad, drunk chicken, roasted beef noodle, wonton in spicy sauce and must have... xiao long bao steamed soup dumplings that you need to eat as soon as it arrives for maximum pleasure.
This hidden gem gas has been a neighborhood facility for years. Only 7-9 tables depend on how to configure their small tables. I think it is usually a good sign in a Chinese restaurant when most other customers speak Chinese and the specials are... on the wall all written in Chinese. As in Asia you could be asked to share a table with strangers, but that will put you faster. If you are like me and you do not read or speak Chinese, do not worry, the menu has English and the servers can place your order in English. The food is good and cheap. $9.85 for pasta and soup. I had hot and sour soup with noodles and my father had beef with noodles in soup.
We went to Long Noodles (a well established tiny eatery in Vancouver's Main Street) for our favourite drunken chicken, Shanghai noodles, Siu Lung Bao (pork dumpling) and also shredded pickled jelly fish. Siu Lung Bao is my favourite. The dough is so soft and tender... but make sure you put it in your spoon and put the whole dumpling in your mouth or else there will be an explosion of soup you will squirt your eating companion (personal experience).
