I’ve always had a soft spot for this chain – it was a treat growing up...– but this unit, in particular, has some nice memories attached to it as well. My former partner and I used to order from here fairly regularly between and whenever I’d be in Vancouver on business. As I recall, the food – be it pizza, wings, wedges or poutine – always arrived on time and piping hot. There was just something relaxing and even fun about getting this “trash pizza” and chilling or watching a movie in our room. Fast-forward seven years and things have definitely changed both personally and food-wise. With respect to food, my tastes have certainly evolved – gotten a bit more refined – but I still love getting my cheap eats. Thus, I once again found myself in Vancouver for meetings and decided to get all nostalgic. Pizza Hut was on the evening’s menu. I ordered: A personal meat lover’s pizza, “buffalo burnin’ hot wings,” and mini rolls by Cinnabon. From order to delivery, my food arrived at the hotel in exactly minutes – now that’s what you call excellent timing. In terms of the food, I felt it was vintage Pizza Hut. The pizza was greasy, cheesy and loaded with toppings – brought me right back to my childhood. And, hey, that’s what this type of pizza is: It’s cheap and quick, otherwise known as “trash pizza.” If you want something more refined, you should probably go elsewhere; however, for me, this is exactly what I wanted on this particular day. The wings, likewise, had a nice spice to them, but I have noticed that Pizza Hut has toned down their “burnin’ hot wings” quite substantially over the last few years. Once upon a time they used to practically burn my mouth off, but not so much anymore. Finally, the Cinnabon rolls . . . oh how I love these gooey little rolls! They’re fairly new to Pizza Hut, having only joined the menu in the last year. While small, I appreciate them exactly because no Cinnabon stores remain in BC following the closure of the one at YVR a couple of years ago. So, cheap pizza and Cinnabon? That’s a match made in Heaven! FOOD: SERVICE: VALUE: RECOMMENDATION: The thing I really like about Pizza Hut is they don’t pretend to be something they’re not. They know they’re “trash pizza” and they embrace it. And while there are better places to get pizza in town, sometimes it’s nice to go for a classic. Recommended! Really? Just go to Commercial Drive or Victoria Drive and have some really fantastic pie. This place is just boring. OK if you're gooned and it's am.
Phones in a order to restaurant at minutes to order two pizzas because the individual on the other end of the phone struggled with English. hour and minutes and I️ had to phone the location to ask where my order was...?? I️ was told they had no apartment number or buzzer and driver left . I️ responded why not call the number ? (No reply). They sent the driver back and he buzzed up and when I️ asked to see receipt..... Yep, buzzer and apt number clearly on there. Pizza was cold ! No apology like I️ did something wrong, and there right I️ did... I️ ordered from them!
You expect a certain standard from Pizza Hut. Not here. BBQ Smokehouse was pizza base with BBQ sauce and little else. Awful. They even stiff you with a fee for using Interact!!
Ordered online and requested delivery at a certain time. Pizza arrives hot and on time. Driver was nice. Thanks Pizza Hut for the poutine pizza!
