Rodney's Oyster House - Vancouver

Per header the food was great, especially the Oysters Rockefeller, with a good wine list and great staff. The layout and design of the place, as well as the atmosphere, was also pretty cool.The only slight downside was the very long wait for a table. Tried to maker a reservation but couldn't get through on the 'phone (busy or no answer) but that is perhaps also a testimony to him good the place is ?

We went there, on recommendation, to test the oysters.Unfortunately we were disappointed. The oysters are expensive and small.

Rodney's oyster houseFriend recommended this place and visited during lunch. Prices were much more reasonable. Had the lobster roll, bread was fresh- lots of lobster. Also had to have an oyster on the half shell. Fresh horseradish on the side along with some lemon. Great bartender - really gave an awesome list of places in Vancouver I might wanna see.

I was very impressed about the variety of seafood they offered. Only from oysters they had at least dozen kind. Servers were very informative and kind and professionally helped in our choice from this wide range of options. Wine selection is perfect. If you want to go for a perfect choice of seafood restaurant I bet you wont mess it up by choosing this one! :)Only lowlight is the chairs are mostly high chairs and can be uncomfortable for those who don't like it.

Our friends recommended Rodney's. When we arrived we noticed a fish&chips special on a board outside, and decided that sounded good. The hostess offered us a table downstairs, promising it wouldn't be as noisy as the main hall. But the downstairs was very noisy. When the waiter told us the fish&chips was only offered at low tide, we left without ordering. Turns out the board advertising the fish&chips only indicated "low tide" on the opposite side, which we had not read. How were we to know? Two stars because, although we left hungry and somewhat frustrated, the food might have been good had it been available.
