It would have been helpful to know that they didn't have a liquor license.
However, the major downside of this restaurant is that they offer NO ALCOHOL at all. I couldn’t find this information anywhere on their OpenTable page, and it wasn't mentioned on the physical menu or drink list either. We actually ordered a bottle of wine from their menu labeled "white wine," and we were quite surprised when it arrived—only to find it was non-alcoholic. I wish our server, who was otherwise fantastic, had made this clear before we ordered. Overall, we left with mixed feelings. While the food was good, I can’t shake the feeling that Street Auntie could do a much better job of informing customers about the experience they’re reserving, especially since the booking requires prepayment.
This is one of the first times I have tried Asian fusion food. The environment here is amazing, strongly resembling a home. Food here strongly resembles both Asian and Western cuisine, and is very unique and delicious. We had the dinner tasting menu this time, and it consisted of multiple courses. The first few courses were not filling, which was perfect as the last course consisted of an entire fried quail. Overall, this was an amazing restaurant.
The service and food are outstanding. The restaurant is somewhat hidden on Granville Street, but as soon as you enter, you feel transported to a different realm. The space is cozy, featuring just one large table for parties, so it’s essential to make a reservation ahead of time. When you do, you’ll experience the essence of Chinese cuisine—absolutely delicious!
