While some dishes didn't quite hit the mark for me, there were plenty of highlights that made the dining experience enjoyable. The restaurant is a great choice for both lunch and dinner, especially for students and working professionals in the area due to its convenient location.
I also had the honey green tea with pearls, which wasn't too sweet and the pearls were chewy like gummy. It was a refreshing drink. It seems like they have a new chef because the food has improved greatly. I would recommend giving this restaurant a try!
Tea Wok Asian Cuisine is situated conveniently next to BCIT in Downtown Vancouver on 551 Seymour Street. Being one of the few Taiwanese restaurants in the area, it was a refreshing change from the usual dining options. The restaurant offers a wide variety of menu options including set meals, appetizers, hot pot, soup noodles, and rice dishes. Additionally, they also have a selection of bubble tea, slushes, and shaved ice to choose from.
As a resident of Richmond, I have many options for bubble tea, but I think Tea Wok is pretty good in terms of food and drinks. I tried the beef noodles, three cup chicken (which is good if you prefer traditional Taiwanese style but not if you like a heavier taste), deep-fried chicken (different from others in Richmond), and fried rice (made with overnight rice for a good texture). I also sampled the honey green tea, yakult green tea, and traditional bubble tea. While the ingredients and water in Canada may be different from Taiwan, I still found the flavors to be close to the original. If I ever find myself in downtown again, I would definitely return to eat at Tea Wok.
I had a great experience at Tea Wok! It was my first time trying their soup and I was pleasantly surprised. I am always searching for good noodle spots near my workplace, and I stumbled upon Tea Wok. The decor exceeded my expectations and the food and service were both wonderful. The unique feature of a button box on the table to call your server or ask for the bill was new to me. While I found the price of the Taiwanese beef soup a bit high at $10.50, the chicken thigh soup was a more reasonable price. I will definitely be returning to Tea Wok in the future.
