Yu Kee BBQ House - Vancouver

A decent place for Chinese food which is known for their bbq pork and duck.

I've heard rave reviews about the quality of their BBQ meats before so I had high hopes for this place.

Passed by this resto many times and decided to get take out after reading all the reviews.

This is by no means a destination place, but if you happen to be in the neighborhood and have a craving for simple Chinese food, this place is quite decent. Basic rice and noodle dishes are fine and they qualify as simple Chinese comfort food. Not spectacular but evokes an earlier time of simple, unpretentious food. Personally love the beef and bitter melon rice. But that's me.

Were in the shopping center and decide to try the lunch special. Wife chose the two pieces of barbecue on rice. Very poor choice. A bowl of white rice with one slice of barbecue pork and one BBQ chicken leg $9.95. I had the beef on Chow Mein, it was OK but I have had better $9.25. Portions were good but not much else. Seen some of the dishes at other tables that appeared to look much better.
