Yuzu Shokutei - Vancouver

Great food and even better customer service made our experience fabulous. Miso ramen had great flavor. Hit the spot! They give you buckets to place your bags under your seat in. The waitress genuinely wanted us to have a great experience.

I went to this restaurant with my coworkers for lunch on a Friday. It was a bit far from our office, but since we wanted to try it out, we made the effort to go. Even though they open for lunch at 11:30am, my coworker was able to make a reservation for 1:15pm on the same day. Surprisingly, when we arrived, we were the only group in the restaurant, despite the hype on social media. I'm not really a fan of ramen, so I opted for a rice set instead. The waitress informed me that the rice sets were part of the lunch specials, so it was $10 instead of the $13 listed on the menu. When my dish arrived, I found a large piece of lint on my panko pork. They took the dish back, confirmed it was lint, and remade my order. The waitress and chef handled the situation professionally. My dish was the last to come out, but it was dry and needed to be dipped in the soup and sauce. The waitress also brought us an extra order of panko pork, which was colder and juicier than the one in my set. I would give this place a second chance and try the ramen and dessert next time, as my coworkers enjoyed their ramen. Despite the mishap, the staff handled it well and it wasn't a big deal for me.

We ordered take away lunch on a Saturday. Dishes we ordered were Korokke, Gyu steak rice, Ahi Tuna Poke. As you can see in the photo, Ahi Tuna Poke had much less contents than Gyu steak rice. Also it had strong sesame oil flavour which we did not like. Korokke and Gyu steak rice were ok but Poke was a disappointment. We were not so impressed and not sure if we would go back there.

Sonya, Jonny, Manami and Natsu to name a few, Jay and Thomas have hired great staff and chefs to make this restaurant so successful. Their focus and excellence in executing the real Japanese dishes in the westend Vancouver is quite something. They even add some western twist in many dishes on top of that. The Yuzu Shokutei offers the best "reasonably home style" dishes here in Vancouver!So delicious! You gotta try here!

I have been there recently and first thing that impressed me was the service. Servers there are incredibly friendly and kind! Food is very creative fusion of westernized Japanese/Asian cuisine. Flavour and presentation of the food shows that these guys know what they are doing. Definitely place I will visit soon! Thumbs up, stay on that track
