L'amalfitana - VARESE

Family-run self-service restaurant in the center of Varese. At lunch it offers self-service and table service with a fixed menu, in the evening it is a restaurant with pizzeria and take-away. I like going there for lunch as they are quick and there is plenty of seating. Cozy and well decorated environment with paintings of Mediterranean landscapes.

At lunch they serve a self-service restaurant which is useful for those who work and want to eat quickly. They also offer table service with a full menu at 11 euros for lunch. For dinner, à la carte restaurant and pizzeria. The fish first courses and pizzas are good.

LOCATION: Particularly dated location, still from the golden age of the place. MENU: Main menu presented in a mediocre way but which offers quite inviting dishes. The sweets one written by hand, really inelegant... STAFF: Very unprofessional staff, superficial and inattentive service. FOOD: Generally good and of good quality. The only problem is the apple pizza: either they bring it to you with raw apples or boiled and watered down ones, a real disaster... In conclusion, the Amalfitana restaurant is a place that offers good dishes, even if sometimes errors arise that could be avoided.

Horrible horrible place. Pizza is a joke, atmosphere is cheap and depressing and service is even worse. One of the worst places in varese. It's amazing it's still open and working! Eat at home, anything would be better.
