Casa Victor - Vélez-Málaga

I've been visiting Torre del Mar since 2000 and have always rated Casa Victor highly, but not any more. I chose the menu del dia, 10 euros for three courses. I don't eat meat and I'd had fish at El Yate (highly recommended) the day before so I fancied some pasta. There was spaghetti bolognese and spaghetti gratin on the menu. I asked the very nice young waitress what the spaghetti gratin was and she said it was spaghetti with cheese which was roasted. I ordered this when the older man came to take our orders. For my starter I had Ensalada Ruso, a sort of potato salad, which I usually love. It was icy cold and watery, as though it had been out of the freezer just long enough to thaw. The other members of my party got their food and I waited. After about five minutes the man brought me a plate of chips with a big piece of meat on it, I said no, I'd ordered spaghetti gratin, he took that plate and gave it to a man on another table. About 10 minutes passed and the man then came out and put a plate of pasta in front of me. My daughter said, ‘Mum that looks like spaghetti bolognese’, she tried it and confirmed it was indeed minced beef. I called the man back and said this isn’t what I’d ordered, I’d asked for spaghetti gratin. Another few minutes passed, by now my mum had finished her meal and my daughter had eaten as much of her soggy pizza as she could. Finally, my meal arrived. I’m 99% certain this was tinned spaghetti in gloopy tomato sauce with a bit of cheese on the top. I appreciate Spain isn’t known for it’s vegetarian cuisine but this was just appalling. I was telling my partner about it later and he reminded me that we’d been to Casa Victor on our last holiday three years earlier and had said we wouldn’t go back; I won’t forget again!

Lovely family meal here 7 adults and 5 kids. The kids loved the pizza and pasta adults enjoyed an amazing paella and the 3 courses for £10 menu del dia. Highly recommended.

Visited this restaurant and ate menu of the day for €10 . You could tell it must be a good restaurant by the number of locals that were eating in it . Good choice for menu of the day but the ordinary menu was very extensive with a large variety of dishes to choose from . Staff were friendly and efficient would eat there again .

Una experiencia un poco irregular. Pedimos dos menús donde el precio es de 11.90€, donde pedimos 3 bebidas, y el precio final fue de 37€. Lo más destacable negativamente es que no tienen pago por tarjeta. La cantidad de comida es buena, y la calidad es buena, pero no tiene sal ninguna. Luego el local tiene muy buen color y una buena terraza.

Acabamos de comer en este restaurante con nuestra familia, la comida estaba rica y el servicio y la atención han sido muy agradables. El único pero que le pondría es el excesivo precio de las bebidas. Una botella de medio litro de agua a 2,9 euros, me parece excesivo; así como el precio de resto de bebidas y cafés.
