Saravana Bhavan Restaurant - Velur

Had a full meal for dinner with friends. The food was excellent and so was the coffee after it. I would highly recommend if you want to taste authentic food of South India with an International Chain of Restaurants.

The quality of food is good and the workplace looks hygenic. The sambar of this hotel is top notch.Not too high but considerably higher.

We had lunch at this place. TN Veg-Meals and Mini Meals. The TN veg-meals was fully satisfying. The rice could have been cooked better. Curries were sufficient and taste was good too. But I felt something was missing from the original Saravana Bhavan taste. I couldn't really figure it out because we were in a hurry. The restaurant also has a AC family room. So definitely recommended place to have vegetarian meals in Vellore with family.

Dear Friends......We were here on 11th March 2017 and had our "Special Meals" here in the regular restaurant(AC we did not prefer). A bowl of rice was given and me being a good eater, was thinking to order one more bowl before even starting seeing its quantity. My wife said, to take her portion of rice instead. We just had sambar rice, rasam,,,,that's it, could not even go beyond this. The bowl was left over with 1/4 cup of it. Shocking, I know, as usual these restaurant guys have no care attitude for whatever complaint you give, since the name has become popular and no point giving a complaint. Our train was at 0330pm me or my wife could not move nor have a gulp of water, it was so heavy as if, air was pumped to your tummy. Every dish like potato curry, kootu, sambar.....all full of masala and spicy too. Oil, oil, oil, oil.....any dish, full of oil. This will be the last visit and would try lunch somewhere else. Pure vegetarians, prefer not to give a care to such type of hotel. They charge pretty high for a lunch, why not give a good quality?

I found this restaurant to be a great eating experience. I have been there several time since it opened. The atmosphere is wonderful. I dined in the open air each time. The last time in January of 2017 there was a rare rainfall that added to the ambiance. Of course, even though it is open air, it is covered and dry. The food was excellent and well served. I have not had a dish yet that wasn't well presented and tasty. I highly recommend the experience.
