Al Vecio Canton - VENEZIA

We dropped in on a rainy, dreary day. Five of us. Hungry and wet. We were greeted by professional staff, given great food, and fell in love with this place. We had a great time talking and eating without being rushed. What a great way to be Venitian for just an afternoon. There were no other tourists and we really felt like locals.

Very nice food with fresh ingredients, traditional atmosphere and excelent service. Seasonal decoration and christmas music.

Nice pub like feel. Had a half carafe of a forgetable red wine. My wife and I split a nice buratta and tomato salad. She had a Napolitani pizza which was good. I had mixed seafood spaghetti which was a great value and tasted spectacularly. There was a side of grilled vegetables and these were well cooked and seasoned.

We ate well and the price was in line with the competition. the service was great and the staff was courteous and helpful. I'd come back.

Between 1000 restaurants in Venice we managed to find a great one for quality-price and typical Venetian dishes. Great pizza too. found out for seeing a lot of people inside. in fact also frequented by the Venetians themselves. recommended.
