The service is friendly and they have a great selection of wine (which is why I am giving it 2 stars instead of one), but there is little redeemable beyond that. The pasta tasted average, and that is even after I paid €3 more for “fresh” pasta. I must also add that I don’t think the waiter’s translation of the Italian menu was entirely accurate because I was surprised by what I got in the end. Their dessert options are very limited — in the end I opted for their “artisanal” ice cream, which was worth €6. For that price you would expect something divine, but it tasted like something ordinary I could get a tub of from the supermarket. You are better off trying all the other nice gelaterias in the city. Perhaps the worst part of the experience was when they tried to charge me double the cost of an item on the final bill. I might have assumed this was a careless mistake, but after having spent some time visiting Italy it seems like a common scam that restaurants do to take advantage of tourists. I may not speak Italian, but I’m not stupid! Went at night for dinner and there was barely anyone in the place. You could either see that as an “authentic” or “local” place that few tourists know of (as some of the other reviews here would have you believe), or you could see it as a sign that this place is not worth your time, or money
This place was a local dive bar that actually had us excited, but everything from food, drink, service and cost was lackluster. We got a cicchetti platter for 20 euros which had 10 small cicchetti that were frankly just meh and greasy. There are waaaay better cicchetti places in town that are more reasonable and higher quality. The wine was 5 euros a glass, while the wine was good it was only a half pour. Server never came back to ask if we wanted another glass even though our glasses sat empty for 10 minutes. We finally got up and left. For 30 euros it was a rip off, basically a glass of wine and 10 small meh cicchetti. Don’t eat here, it is a local hangout but more for drunks and friends of the bar than a good dive hangout for everyone.
I can say this without any hesitation: Casa Dea Corte is the friendliest and realest place I know of to eat or drink in Venice. I have been to Venice a few times, this time I went with my mom. We always try to find unpretentious places to eat, where the quality of the food and service speaks for itself. So when we were looking inside this small yard, just far enough away from the big touristy streets that you could forget they are there, we immediately knew we had to check it out. We never looked back from there. Everybody is supersuper friendly and welcoming. Oliver, the host, also does the cooking. He offers a great selection of Cicchetti and there is also a small seasonal menu of pasta dishes and some other things, which seems to vary, depending on what's available at the market that day. When you watch Oliver through the window you realise this is the real deal. Everything is freshly cooked with lots of love and knowledge about classical Venetian cooking. No unnecessarily fancy stuff, just really, really good food. The waiter was always happy to recommend a few dishes to us as well as explain them a bit if needed. We tried different Cicchetti, as well as some pasta dishes (among others, Bigoli in Salsa were amazing, Pasta alla Busara was also soo good). For the remainder of our stay, which was three days, we came back two times. Would have been more often, if we stayed longer. I also believe this might be an awesome place to go and just chill and drink some beers or Aperol or wine. But I will find out anyway the next time I am in Venice as I will be coming back to Casa Dea Corte 110 percent, no questions asked. Thank you guys for everything! Definitely the highlight of our trip.
Very pleasant and cozy osteria in canaregi. The hotel is set within a 5-minute walk from the center of Ho Chi Minh. if you want to really enjoy, don’t miss the business in the center and don’t miss. very nice (and fun service.) paper menu (not in English on the table you do not get, but the owner will tell you everything, besides, they offer a seasonal menu (to the table every day and other specialties.) large serving of home pasta, great wine, amazing starters. Time!
Saying great is reductive, they are really very good and kind, the place is out of the confusion of venezia and offers a nice court. Highly recommended
