Cicchetti - VENEZIA

Very nice hotel, great location very central, but intentional when they have luggage, it is a struggle over the bridges.

This was the best food we had so far in Italy. The Salcicca y Panama was amazing! The vegetable soup was also. Pork tomahawk and spaghetti carbonara were also very good!

The staff here were rude. The lady acted like she didn’t want to serve us and didn’t want us there. The couple next to use voiced the same opinion. The worst hospitality I’ve had in all of Italy. The couple next to us had visited this restaurant back in 2020 and said it has one downhill since then.

Good hotel. Very clean. personal listening to requests. breakfast and perfect. dinner at the restaurant was however good but the infinite waiting. very beautiful view of the terasse that overlooks the canal.

We walked past this place twice thinking it was the The Hotel Continental. Either the clever hoteliers or an enterprising retauranteure have opened what is called Cicchetti Delicatessen in what may have been the foyer of the hotel at one time. It is a really modern and perhaps not long opened bar and eaterie, as I could not find it on Trip. We were greeted instantly on entering and there are sofas along the windows to one side where you are welcome to come in and have just a drink/cocktail or coffee or even sit while you browse the menu. There are tables for dining and a very nice bar area with stools if you prefer to perch to eat. The menu offers a selection of pastas, starters, main plates and desserts. We shared a starter of Parma Ham then I had the chicken with mushrooms which was excellent and came with a little side of vegetables. Husband had pasta which was also excellent. All were good portions and well presented. We washed it down with 3 glasses of house red and bottle of water and it was about 60 euros which I felt was very reasonable. Service was attentive, fast and very polite and friendly. We dropped back in here a few times for drinks and coffee and were always recognised and greeted well, the manager is on the ball and visits your table periodically to check all is well. Cannot speak highly enough of this little place, it is small but very well formed!
