La Dolce - VENEZIA

Had dinner here and the service was wonderful with attentive staff. The food was excellent. I had the fish of the day which was sea bass. It was prepared to perfection with moist flaky texture. My husband had the seafood stew and it was amazing with lots of clams and mussels. The food is very expensive by North American standards but not too different from high end Venetian restaurants. We would definitely eat here again.

Eating in the hotel is not what we normally do but this was really good, lovely veal chop, great pasta, brilliant pizza, chips for our son, and a brilliant bottle of fruillano

Generally very good food, the Gustosa pizza is good, but get them to add a tomato base and it becomes very good indeed. Possibly the best carpaccio any of us have had, but it would be better with just rocket and parmesan. My elder daughter likes Milanese and thinks this was the best ever. The BBQ is just a standard gas barbecue, so we weren't tempted. All a little too expensive, but it's in a top hotel on it's own island. If you aren't staying at the hotel you can pick up the free shuttle boat from their dock between Giardinetti and Zaccaria, the dock is shared with the Marriott, boats leave at 20 and 50 minutes past the hour all day. Definitely would be worth the 10 minutes boat ride to see the hotel and the island and to have lunch.
