Having had the misfortune of eating at this establishment I can honestly say I’d rather swim back to st Marc’s and find a better alternative (Burger King would be better). The restaurant stank of wet dog and the food was horrific. Service was haphazard at best and it wasn’t cheap at 100euro for two with no wine. I paid 160 euro for lunch at Al Covo and was happy to pay it, at this place I felt I’d been robbed. Awful awful awful. Avoid. The website and images make it look fancy the reality is anything but. It’s a tourist trap and a bad one at that.
With a little free time on my own for lunch, I took a short stroll to La Tavernetta for lunch. There are many foods that can be found all over the world, I like try them in their place of origin to assess how they are supposed to be made. I started with a local prosciutto, which was phenomenal. It was far less salty than a lot of prosciutto I’ve had in the states. I also love fried calamari, so I ordered the Mixed Fried Adriatic Seafood, which was primarily calamari and shrimp, and also included clams and zucchini chips. The proprietor was friendly and attentive, all in all it was a terrific lunch.
We been yesterday, nice cozy restaurant The food here is high quality we had amazing pasta and focaccia Highly recommended
