There were two Chinese staffs who barely spoke English. We ordered a linguine cuttlefish ink, a prosciutto pizza, a spaghetti carbonara, cutlet a milonaise. We were confused when the pizza and milonaise came out of the bar. The pizza and milonaise were cooked from frozen, nothing was fresh. The prosciutto wasn’t prosciutto at all, just regular ham. The cuttlefish linguine turned out to be plain squid ink spaghetti, not linguine, and no squid inside the pasta and did not have any taste at all. There was no ham in the carbonara unlike shown in the picture. The spaghetti wasn’t properly cooked either. We were so gutted the food was disgusting. We had 2-3 mouthfuls and decided to just pay and leave. We went to another Italian restaurant that served decent food. I’m sorry but I wouldn’t give a star at all if there was an option, nothing we ordered was decent at all.
Our last day in Venice, so we were rushing around. We popped in because there were spaces free. There’s a nice couple running the place, but it needs to up the game a bit. Morning pizza arrived 5 minutes before Lisa’s risotto. Now I can manage that at home. I expect better when I’m paying for it. Risotto ok, pizza ok bit stodgy. Drinks a bit expensive. Fast service, if not a little disorganised. Food ok, not great. The place is a little transport cafe, with fruit machines everywhere!!
Popped in for a pizza to share and some drinks. Friendly service by a nice couple, and ordered a Hawaiian (don’t judge us as we do enjoy pineapple on a pizza! Cooked fresh whilst we waited as we wanted it to take away, and had a couple of drinks whilst we waited. One of the best pizzas we’ve had in Italy surprisingly as lots of places claim to be the best or oldest etc, yet this one was very memorable! Would definitely have a pizza from here again, 100%!
We passed this bar many times, but sight seeing and the time of day didn't make it the right time for a beer. One afternoon my wife wanted to shower and wash her hair, I didn't need any prompting and off I went for a beer. Friendly staff, nice to sit and people watch, and I wasn't even missed by my wife.
Even humble cheese and tomato pizzas are better in Venice than anywhere else! Not expensive and an excellent lunch with a couple of Italian local beers too. Nice friendly staff even when busy.
