New bar/bistro, with very friendly barman who manages this place.
Affordable cichetti and tasty aperol spray (4€), my wein tasted down (or at least cheap quality, but was 4€ for a very full glass and we got free cichetti, so I don't complain. free wifi and wc!
If you want toexperience the real Italian coffee and food :forget Venice and go find it in another town. Restaurants in Venice, including Bar Gioia, does not have Italina chefs and is runned by foreigners. There is no harm in that ofc and the food they provide is sincerely clean and fresh, but it does not represent exactly the Italina food. I have tried pasta and Pizza in Bar Gioia, but I could not sense at all that Italian touch that differs the Italian born pizza and the other ones. The service btw in the bar is great and the staff speak good English, however, the wifi is just a joke. Real joke
We did a little (cicchetti- Bar hopping that day. After an average start this was the second Bar we 've visited. We just stumbled upon it by wandering around the lanes of Venice. Looked good and location was nice. Ordered cicchetti with salmon and cheese, fatty bacon and one with mushrooms. Some fried quail eggs as well. It looked all very nice, but sadly it wasn 't. The bread was pretty stale, some parts close to soggy and the toppings just not that high of quality (compared to places like the brillant All 'Arco . I assume that these cicchetti were sitting there for a while. The wine was ok, but way too warm and overpriced. Staff was ok. But all in all not a place to go back to. There 's so many great cicchetti bars in Venice....but this isn 't one of them.
