Staff outside mopping patio and others inside cleary not interested in serving us. We were not the only customers lost, another car coming in as we were leaving. Disappointed, we took our business down the road to Blenders.
Corn burritos and chips cheese fries I’ve been eating them since walking home from Anacapa middle school! The classic cheese burger and root beer freeze was my favorite as a kid! Now my kid loves this spot, we make a date out of driving to Ventura from Somis, CA to eat here and visit other locally owned businesses!
I literally live in the neighborhood across Telegraph. On 2-seperate occasion (7:30pm 8:15pm) my son and I have visited only to be told they were closed although their website states they're open until 9pm. I wasn't particularly pleased with the attention received when I politely inquired last night (8:15pm).
I recently stopped by Foster Freeze in Ventura with my nephew and mom, excited for a classic lunch featuring burgers, fries, and of course, ice cream. However, our experience fell short of expectations, resulting in a 2 1/2 star review.Foster Freeze, once a beloved walk-up counter service establishment near Ventura College, seems to have undergone changes that impacted the overall dining experience. Gone are the tables and benches where patrons could sit and enjoy their meals, and even the small inside dining room has been closed off.To make matters worse, the cashier we encountered was rude and unhelpful. When asked about customer restrooms, which they do have, we were abruptly told they were not available for use. Additionally, when inquired about the closed dining room, the response was dismissive, stating it was simply "locked. "The prices have soared to unreasonable levels, with our simple order of two burgers, a kid 's hotdog, fries, and drinks totaling almost $40. Considering the lack of seating and poor customer service, this price point was unjustifiable. While the food itself wasn 't terrible, it certainly didn 't meet the mark of excellence. The hotdog my nephew received was disappointingly small compared to the bun, and my burger was overshadowed by an oversized bun with scanty meat. The saving grace was the fries, which were decent. Sadly, we didn 't even get to sample their famed ice cream due to the absence of seating.Foster Freeze seems to rely heavily on its reputation, but our recent visit left much to be desired. It 's evident that improvements are needed in areas such as customer service, pricing, and overall dining experience. As a result, I doubt I 'll be returning anytime soon unless significant changes are made. Foster Freeze, it 's time to step up your game and deliver the quality experience your customers deserve.
My kids visited me from Texas! My mother-in-law took us to this iconic establishment! Reminds me of a local burger shack from my hometown. I ordered the old fashioned burger and a dipped ice cream cone! Absolutely awesome. Thank you. We really loved it.
