Taqueria La Hermita - Ventura

I can't express how much I love their ceviche—it's an understatement to say I'm obsessed with it. I've sampled ceviche from nearly every restaurant in Ventura County, and nothing compares to theirs; it’s the freshest and most flavorful combination I've ever had. To top it off, they just added octopus to their menu! Everything else I've tried here is also extremely fresh and delicious. This is definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant!

I enjoyed a delicious vegan taco salad that was full of flavor and had the perfect crunch! This was my second visit, and it did not disappoint. On my first visit, I tried the vegan posole, and it exceeded my expectations. With options like these, I never miss animal products. I can't wait to come back for more!

This restaurant is a hidden gem, although it can be inconsistent at times. The vegan menu is outstanding and flavorful. The salsa is consistently fresh and well-prepared. However, the soup can be a bit hit or miss. The flavor is generally good, but sometimes the cook may inadvertently scoop too much of one ingredient when warming it up. As a result, you might end up with a bowl of pozole that has only hominy or pork. If it weren't for that, it would definitely deserve five stars. I returned for the vegan nachos, which were very tasty, and the salsa was fresh and delicious.

Super yum as a vegan, but my family also LOVED their regular menu. We will certainly be returning...I have so many more of their vegan dishes to try out! Below is their vegan chili relano burrito.

Best selection of vegan/vegetarian Mexican food in town! Quick service and decent portions. A little skimpy on the grilled veggies for the taco salad. Love the wide range of Jarritos flavors offered here.
