Thai Star Thai Food - Ventura

We've continued to order from them mainly because they are often the only Thai restaurant available for delivery. However, going forward, if we can’t find another Thai place open, we’re just going to skip Thai food altogether. During our last order (yesterday), we got the Red Curry, but this time the portion was significantly smaller than before. Typically, the curry comes in a generous container, but it felt like we received half of what we usually get, despite not ordering a lunch portion or anything like that. I had ordered the same Red Curry only a month ago, and this was the same item, same price, but a much smaller portion. I don't know if they ran out of ingredients, but it’s frustrating to pay the same amount for considerably less food. If they had to reduce the portion size, they should have communicated that on the menu. We also requested it to be Not Spicy, expecting a milder version. However, what we received was incredibly fiery—by far the hottest Red Curry I’ve ever tasted. My wife struggled to handle just a teaspoon, and I was taken aback by the heat. Based on our previous experiences, it seems they might have reacted negatively to our request for a milder curry, and perhaps they intentionally made it extra spicy as a result. We tried to rectify the situation by adding two cans of coconut milk, which made it somewhat bearable, but it was still extremely hot. In the end, we had to take strong antacids just to finish a portion. We won’t be returning.

Food overpriced, very small portion, rice very dry, very little meat in the dish, charged me .50 extra because I did not want ice in my drink. I ordered 2 dishes they were mediocre at best. I will not return again.

A hole in the wall, sitting next to other great restaurants. Good price for good quality food. The pad Thai with chicken was delicious. I highly recommend it. I?ll be coming back for sure.

The pad see ew was absolutely delicious! I can't wait to come back and try more dishes. The service was excellent—they welcomed me and took my order even though I arrived just 5 minutes before closing!

Ive ordered here cor years never had a problem till today. I ordered a Vegan dish for one of my workers when we got it it had egg in it. We tried to call to fix it and the guy refused and literally said sometimes vegans eat eggs..
