I loved this bar aussteroa near the church san Zeno...lovable staff and delicious hot chocolate and vegetable lis
Came to lunch here because we discovered this beautiful osteria in a beautiful environment. my friend ordered the Lasagne-Bolonese and I had a plate with cold cuts. when we finished ordering, I went in to see that most of their menus were preheated. in a refrigerator, that was our first bad sign. then came the cold cut plate and it was a very “sad” plate with a few slices of meat and slices of ordinary clear cheese. then came the lasagne who looked gray looking. it was the worst lasagne we've ever tasted. no work that brings it into itself. we've been in italics for a month and that's the worst we've got. if they want good Italian cuisine, I do not recommend this osteria.
Very good place for a real aperitivo in the best corner of the piazza s. zeno and very good place for tapas or a light meal outdoor also in a very hot summer day. service is good, friendly and colorful. after you can see. by coming together local families and children and playing on the main square opposite the excellent s. zeno kathedrale.
Situated right in the shadows of the stunning Basilica of San Zeno, this restaurant may not look like much from the outside, but looks are most definitely deceiving. We had to rush past another family to obtain the last table in the outside seating area...and were immediately greeted by a friendly waiter, who spoke good English and explained the menu for us in detail. He stated that everything was homemade and that the lasagne was the house speciality', so I went for that. And all I can say is, wow! Beautifully layered and full of flavour, it was one of the nicest lasagne's I've ever had! We then proceeded to ordering coffees and dessert. Their coffee was rich and full in taste, typically Italian! As for pudding, I'm not normally a fan of tiramisu, but I had a few spoonfuls of my mum's and it was like heaven. Their chocolate salami', which is a local dessert from Verona, was also tasty and consisted of chocolate and biscuit combined in the shape of sliced salami, which resembled the look of black pudding! Unusual and different, but worth a try. We were the only english people eating here, so it was clearly a locals favourite. But don't let this put you off. Friendly staff, lovely homemade food and a great setting, what more could you ask for.
