Maybe we were there at the end of the day (15:30 a.m.) because they ran out of the dingen before our eyes. we managed to sneak our second choice sandwiches, hot chocolates and our second choice desserts. Nevertheless, our second choices were all amazing and I was happy to have stopped it. would it do again!
We visited kinky and decided to go to the lunchtime after Angelina. we had to wait about 20 minutes to sit, but it was worth it. we ordered their fabulous hot chocolate and everyone had a drink. two in our party ordered the club sandwich... that was so. I ordered the croc monsieur (delicious) and daughter ordered the huh that was delicious. the second highlight of the meal was dessert. I ordered her famous Mont Blanc and it was to die. highly recommended to enjoy this food. there is also one in paris and recommend reservations at this place before your arrival in paris.
Very slow service and great waiting time for an expensive coffee and the hot chocolate was not something special.
We wanted to have a cake here when we visit the palast. it was a bad idea worst organization and service: many empty tables, while a big quieu, waited 30 minutes to go to the table, another 15 for the order, no one came. so we gave up and left.
We were in the first group through Versailles palace for the day, so we got to Angelina with barely a crowd. We had seats at a table and ate at the snack bar where we could order drinks and pastries and, whoa, they are a...good time. If you are just getting the run of the mill stuff you can get anywhere else, yeah, you'll be upset at the prices. You don't get a view from the snack counter either. But hey, you just passed through an enormous palace... you should have stuff to talk about and forget the view, because your focus right now should be on which amazing thing will be the next to cross your palate. So yeah, that said, I did have a Nescafe cafe au lait, but I corrected my error after tasting my kids' chocolat chaud. That... wow. It was like imagine the best and richest chocolate ice cream you could ever have, melt it down, add more chocolate to it, cook it, and then serve. Divine. Dunk a croissant in it. And then get another. But don't forget to try the Mont-Blancs. I don't even like meringue, but whooie, these were a good time. I had the chestnut variant. The raspberry one looked similarly wonderful, but I had to try the lemon tart as well. It was worth skipping breakfast to catch the early train out to Versailles to beat the crowd and then beat them again to Angelina. Plus, having the hall of mirrors pretty much to ourselves was pretty great.
