Twice for a meal, the best food we eat on the island. Fillet Steak was amazing and the tomato soup was delicious

Found that this family eat place after a morning walking on the back streets of Funchal. We originally stopped for a drink, but after watching the menu we decided to stop for food too; and so glad we did. The woman who greeted us was absolutely beautiful, friendly, smiling and chatting and we immediately felt really welcome. After 5 days of eating, we only wanted a local, direct food and that we, lovingly prepared by the lady's husband. The location was perfect, in a really pleasant back road. The road was shaded, a beautiful breeze and pleasantly spacious and comfortable away from the hectic and the bustle; some of the street places that we would eat just a few streets away were quite cramped. The premises were immaculately clean and the family is proud of what they do. A fantastic experience to pamper yourself with a visit to Funchal. Thanks Vieira.

Wife ordered the fish cakes . Said they were best she has had since arriving. Side salad clean and crisp. Sea bass for me .with nice potatoes Lovely staff. Nice wine list. Very good with no complaints.

Perfect service, very pleasant staff, very tasty deespada! I realy recomens this place! My friends had espetada, it was alsou quite good, but not as good as fish.

Visited here last December and very impresses with the food served, so we called in again this week for more! Pork loin with mushroom sauce for me and scabbard fish with shrimp sauce for the better half. Nice veggies too and served on warm plates....Nice people here, serving and cooking. Several snackbars/restaurants nearby with few customers, but Vieira is usually busy, so that tells a tale.
