Bard & Banker - Victoria

I came here with my family to celebrate my birthday in the past week. When I booked a reservation on the phone they were very enthusiastic, warm and welcoming. However, at the restaurant our waitress was cold and unfriendly. Throughout the night, she didn’t make any small talk and when we were finished eating she didn’t ask us if we wanted coffee or dessert just quickly brushed by and handed us our bill!! Keep in mind we had only been there for over an hour maybe 75 minutes and quite confused why we were being rushed out. We were very disappointed and unimpressed with the service as the ambiance and food were great.

Best pub in town! Had to leave a review this time! Fantastic staff and food and drinks. This one is one of my favourite places to go when I visit Victoria. There was a little wait when coming in, but the hosts got us in, Juan and Inna are one of our favourite staff team, they make our our visit memorable every time we go. I had the Paella and it was great! Our server Jordan was really sweet! Definitely coming back and looking forward to see these great people again!

My wife and I were in Victoria to celebrate our 18 year anniversary. We had no reservations and just stopped in. This place was great! Food was delicious, atmosphere was awesome, drinks were on point! But what really made the night special was our server Alyssa! She was fantastic!!! That place was packed and we thought it would take forever, but Alyssa made us feel like we were her only table! She was super sweet and very attentive! She made our night! The service industry needs more servers like her! Thank you again Alyssa!

We went for a later dinner and were pleased with the results. There was a short wait to get in. That’s to be expected on a Saturday night of a long weekend. We started with the steamed mussels. They were the best mussels I have ever had. Cooked perfectly and very tasty. I had the pan seared halibut served on lobster risotto. Tracy had the West Coast Paella. Both were delicious. The risotto was cooked to perfection. There was live music that was enjoyable but not so loud that you couldn’t have a conversation. We would definitely recommend this place.

What a beautiful place. Very popular and busy. Suggest a reservation for dinner. We arrived early for a 630p reservation and we're told the section we were to be seated in was not open yet. We took a place in the bar and waited. It was worth it. We were seated in a balcony above the music stage ... fantastic. Shared the lobster arrancini and then the paella. Both were excellent. On the downside, my husband ordered a dirty martini that had way too much olive juice in it. He sent it back which is really rare for him. The replacement was better but a short pour. Barring that and if our waitress had been a little more friendly it would have been a 5 star experience.
