Kitty's Hideaway - Victoria

My friends and I have been having Saturday breakfast at the Hideaway for over 5 years. Dana is our server and she couldn't be more pleasant. The food is always hot and fresh. We are very sad to see that a larger development is taking over the complex and the restaurant is closing at the end of February. I just wanted to say thanks for the great food and service.

Very handy spot for a quick lunch on the way to downtown from north island via Hwy 1. It is behind the Tally Ho motel, (defunct), but still with a big sign. Parking is on the left, behind and on the right which is where the entrance is.We had sandwiches and soup from the Express Menu, and were very satisfied. Being light eaters we took half away with us ! Very friendly service and pleasant atmosphere.

Sadly, although the atmosphere is upbeat and the staff are super friendly, the food is very average. With all the top notch brunch restaurants in Victoria, you really need to step up your game to compete. The food was tasteless, over-fried, and certainly over-priced.

Hideaway is what you want to do after eating do not try to find the hideaway it should keep hiding far away not worth your time in any way the staff well let me just say i thought about calling suicide prevention hotline no really this girl either hated her job or her life just did not want to be there and was not very good at hiding it away we walked into the restaurant very nice looking i think they where going for a kinda roadhouse like feel but cleaner there was a very big poster as you came in to the lobby promoting a salas dance nite we asked about this and our wait person says don,t bother just about this many peeps show up for it we looked around and there was only one other table i asked her how long had she bin the PR person for the place not even a smile she drifted off we did not see her again for what seemed like 15 to 20 minutes we got up and got our own menus i ordered the pancakes $4 good value but i was finished in 3 shakes of a lamps tail and i never did see our waitress again i hate looking at dirty dishes this place back when it was kittys hideaway totally rocked both in service and the food and you could never get in right away just go,s to prove that all good things must end

An hour and half to be served. Over 20 others seated after us and served before. Sausage bacon and pancakes under cooked.
