The food was excellent, and our waitress was pretty good. Very large, creative selection has something for everyone. Probably expensive despite the fantasy name.
Culinary artistry at an affordable price. Sure, the art pieces on the wall, the skylight letting in the nature light, and even the aromatic restroom are all nice touches. The food, on the hand, was superb. I ordered a fish taco with the soup of the day. Judging from the price, I pictured a half shell taco with some slaw. I didn't expect a visual art presentation. See the pictures attached. The fried and broiled cod sat on top of two homemade tacos, topped with peach chutney, garnished with cilantro, purple cabbage, and carrot julienne. The mixture of these ingredients offered a conbination of texture and taste, every bite was a hint of sweetness from the chutney, crunch from the batter and the tacos, tenderness from the fish. It is hard to describe, but it was definitely an experience. Then, there was the plain looking side dish a yam soup. Even the name is not appealing. Yet, it was both tasty and perplexing. It was sweet, which made sense. But it was tangy, like a tomato soup. And it was spicy, not as mild as in pea soup, and not as spicy as the hot and sour soup. How did they come up with this creamy, spicy, and zesty pureed yam soup? Just can't wait to try the rest of the menu!
Consistently delicious food! The wait times here are much shorter than in the city center. However, be cautious during holidays or special occasions; we had to wait an hour for our meals on Mother's Day, even though the line for a table wasn't too long. The staff is extremely friendly, and they even removed the coffee from our bill due to the wait. Overall, a fantastic place!
The service was incredibly efficient, and all the food was fresh and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place for lunch or breakfast. Just be aware that there’s no air conditioning, and it was quite warm where we were seated since the doors to the sunny terrace were left open. Bring some ice water, and you'll be just fine!
The food was excellent! I'm not usually a fan of hashbrowns that are just pan-roasted potatoes, but these were delightful. I typically dislike coffee as well, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it was quite good here (my companion, who loves coffee, agreed). The prices are pretty much what you would expect in Victoria, with breakfast items starting around $9. Overall, I can definitely see myself returning again and again.
