The Loghouse Pub - Victoria

We both ordered the prime rib. The Yorkshire pudding was more like bread, and the potatoes and gravy were cold, so I sent mine back. The kitchen redid the entire plate, and it was hot when it was served. Unfortunately, the flavor was lacking, which was disappointing. However, our waitress was wonderful, and I appreciate the 5-star service.

We stopped here for lunch on a Saturday while on our way to Victoria. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. The restaurant had a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. They offered a wide variety of drinks, and the pub food was tasty with generous portions.

Update to this review. It wasn 't but a few days following when I got a message from this business. That in itself speaks volumes about this business. After providing additional details for the management team; I was told that steps were put in place to ensure this doesn 't happen again and I truly believe that will be the case. I understand that all businesses over the course of the last 2 years have to make some service adjustments; and this business recognizes that. Knowing that my original review has made positive changes ensures that I will continue to patronize this pub/restaurant. Oh; by the way, I now believe that it 's OK to bring that birthday cake for the enjoyment of your special person. I hate writing negative reviews....however.....here 's why this one was written. Phoned the Loghouse to find out if I could drop off a special birthday cake as I wanted to treat and surprise my daughter with a very special birthday. The staff OKed the delivery; according to the staff now that the mandates were dropped it was business as usual. Delivered the cake and candles an hour before our dinner reservation and requested that the staff deliver the cake with candles lit AFTER our dinner dishes were cleared. I also informed the staff that I would be wearing the same shirt (easy recognition) and to pass along this information to the evening staff; which they agreed to do. Dinner; which barely made the average grade, with my daughter was fine; the dinner dishes removed and I waited patiently for the cake. Nothing. I asked the server about our cake and she didn 't know what I was speaking about. Then she said it wasn 't allowed. After discussions with both me and the kitchen staff; who all agreed that everything about the cake was fine , she disappeared for about 5 minutes then returned with the cake still in its packaging box with the lid open and with lit candles on top of the cake. For some reason; the cake couldn 't be taken out of the box, put on a plate and served that way. My suggestion; if you plan on celebrating a birthday with a loved one at this pub; LEAVE THE CAKE AT HOME or at the very least supply TYPED instructions for the serving staff.

Aaa-Ron (Aaron) at the bar is delightful! He will remember your drink of choice and make great recommendations! He crafted delicious cocktails for us. The Potato Skins were very good and a fair portion. The ambiance was pub style with a Large Beautiful fireplace. Excellent dinner with a great atmosphere. The food was quick to be presented, wait staff were excellent.
