Doubledave's Pizzaworks - Victoria

When we arrived, it took a while to get served, as they seemed short-staffed, but the employees were really nice. We had to wait a bit because they had run out of Pepperoni Rolls; I ordered a dozen since it was their Sunday special. While they weren’t as good as the Tuesday 90-cent rolls, 12 for $13.99 is still better than the regular price of $16.50. I appreciate that they have an open preparation area, as I enjoy watching food being made, but this time it was a bit off-putting because I noticed some questionable food safety practices. My boyfriend mentioned he expected that, but still... Sigh. We decided to just hope the oven took care of any germs and ate them anyway, needing the energy for our ride home during a tornado warning! The first Pepperoni Roll I had was delicious, with a nice crunchy exterior and a fluffy, cheesy, pepperoni-filled center. However, the second, third, and fourth rolls were a disappointment—they were drier, tougher, and doughier, to the point where I had to gnaw at my piece. Such a letdown! Thankfully, their ranch dressing is incredibly tasty, and it really enhances any dish. They also offer marinara, which I used to mix with ranch back in college—definitely the best of both worlds! Overall, I appreciate the chance to reminisce about my college days, but I hope they improve their food safety practices, like using gloves, wearing hairnets, and ensuring clean attire.

During the COVID pandemic, this restaurant remained open and allowed me to enjoy a beer while I waited for my food to be brought out. I really appreciate that!

This is my favorite pizza place in Victoria. The hand-tossed crust is so delicious that you won't leave a single bite on your plate. I stopped trying other pizzerias once I discovered this gem.

We had their pizza bar, salad bar and dessert bar plus drink for $10 each. Lots of choices and all very good. Hand thrown dough the best and lots of vegetarian choices

I ordered crispy thin pizza for pick up, I got a soggy thin pizza. Pizza is not as good as I would have liked. Ultimately, I'm disappointed in taste but the service was nice so I'm giving it three stars.
