Typically I have one of the soups or the lemongrass curry with a choice of meat (chicken, beef, prawn, pork, tofu) The soups are always decent and the curry tastes good, not too spicy and there's a variety of spicy sauces at the table as well as real chopsticks and spoons (not disposable ones. Nothing worse than disposable wooden chopsticks) their Vietnamese subs are pretty good too. Great place for a quick bite at the mall!
We live nearby and have always been satisfied. Subs are fresh and filling (chicken, beef are faves), shrimp salad roll always fresh and delicious, spring rolls same...our fave dish is the spicy lemongrass beef pho...consistently hot, fresh, full of meet, veg, noodles...never waited more than 5 mins for our food whether eating in or taking out AND my daughter often walks over for bubble tea. Friendly service, there's a young man in the kitchen who often oversees the take out counter, extra friendly and helpful with the menu. A welcome addition to our neighbourhood.
Location: Easy to find. Lots of free parking. <br/ <br/ Restaurant: Clean. Good decor. Lots of sun. <br/ <br/ Service: Good. Polite. Food is cooked and serve very quickly after order. Utensils (chopsticks or forks) and sauces are readily available on your table, not need to wait to get one. <br/ <br/ Price: Competitive with most Vietnamese restaurants. Justified in my opinion. <br/ <br/ Food: So far I have tried only their phos and has not been disappointed. Comes in a big bowl so definitely will fill you up. Tasty and you can't really go wrong with pho. <br/ <br/ Conclusion: Since it is located beside Silvercity Victoria, it is a good place to go eat before or after a movie. Will return.
We dropped in for lunch today at Tillicum Mall's Saigon Char-Broil. I am not familiar with Vietnamese food and that was part of the reason we went there. The atmosphere is quite nice. We ordered a combo chicken with spring rolls and rice noodles. The chicken was very very good. The noodles were tasty but my favourite was the spring rolls. There were excellent. The two of us shared the plate and so that kept the cost very reasonable. We will return.
Everything was very fresh and and the food came out quick. I didn’t have the after effects of MSG that I sometimes have with these places. The spring rolls are wrapped in rice paper so it’s a more gluten-friendly option (not celiac safe) but great for gluten sensitive people like me. The hot and sour soup was really nice and the vermicelli bowl was fresh and tasty. The meat was seasoned well and didn’t have that overly processed texture. I can tell they focus on wholesome ingredients. Would definitely go back.
