This is not a place for fine eating, but if they want a lot of good freash hot eating to a reasonable, perhaps cheap price, this is the place to come. Buffet style, return as often as you like, mix of meat, sweet, rice and small English is spoken, but they don't need much German to order a drink and point at the buffet. a good one, not to visit frills place.
The food was ok but the head waiter or whoever he was terribly rude! I asked him in English if I could have tap water and he simply walked away and waved me off! He even said something in German while walking away which I...couldn't understand. You've been warned if you don't speak much German, don't come here. Also, their plates and soup bowls were very dirty. It's too bad because I have nothing against their food but I will surely not bring my UN colleagues here.
There are very few places in Vienna that are as good value as this. We had the buffet 7.90 each which consisted of soup, burgers, kebabs, chicken and pork chops. There was also goulash, rice, potatoes vegetables and a large salad bar. The food was...hot and tasty. Service was quick. waters, 1 large beer and buffet dinner x2 came to 26.40euro.
Located behind one of the biggest stations in Vienna, Balkanhaus is well located eat as much as you want type of restaurants. For 7 euros you get good buffet with balkan pork barbicue, fried meat, coocked home meals like rolled meat in cabage, pottage, soup,...various salads and stewed vegetables. Barbicue meat is really, really tasty and generaly all food is very good. For 7 euros u will easily solve all your food needs from morrning to evening. Great food for small money, good deal!
