Basically its a hole in the wall, with standing places only where you buy wonderful cheeses and hams and wine by the glass. I call it a hangout for rich alcoholics lovingly! Try the mixed platters if you decide to eat on location. Always...crowded in a fun way. Its truly authentic and everything you buy there is of highest quality. A fun place for a snack or to shop to take home or to the hotel.
We checked into Das Triest Hotel and then decided to explore the Naschmarkt. We stopped at this tiny stall. Opening the door we were greeted by a tiny shop full of beautiful produce, two happy men behind the counter and 5 people enjoying a drink....We were asked what we like when deciding what to order. On our platter they choose Italian prosciutto, pecorino with peppercorns and a fontina cheese drizzled with oil and freshly ground black pepper. The Riesling chosen is from the producers Ott from the Feuersbrunn region. A throughly enjoyable start to our holiday. Cheers
This is a tiny shop in the centre of the night market was the absolute highlight of my stay in Vienna. Stop and ask her to make a dish and you will be thrilled with a glass of wine and huge selection of cured meat and mountain...cheese that you will find nowhere else. The staff is warm and friendly and friendly so you never want to go. There is no visible menu; just ask them for a selection and glass of something local that you will not be disappointed.
This is a really special authentic gourmet experience a beautifully cured selection of meat and cheese paired with some stunning wines. We let the wonderfully welcoming owner who leads the place with his two sons choose for us and we loved the warm...Roast-Rind with the horseradish of the Alpblood Chess next to some chilled Gruner-Veltliner. It is not for everyone; You have to stand, you will be jostled into the tiny room and it is expensive (42 euros for 2 glasses for wine a Deli plate) but we felt it was a good value given the origin. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
