A Marisqueira - Vila Franca de Xira

Went here on the recommendation of the hotel for a seafood restaurant. We were expecting fish but when we arrived we saw they had shellfish. Being from New England we were not unhappy. The shrimp was great, sweet and salty the way shrimp should taste,...we also had a taste of a few local things. We got small clams in garlic and oil that were great! They start you off with bread and jamon that I just couldn't get enough of. I really enjoyed our meal. I'm so glad to be the first person to review the restaurant in English and hope there are other people who will try it.

Our last dinner in Portugal ended up being the best seafood we had on the trip. There was a bit of a language barrier when ordering, but thanks to the patient waitress and google translate, we ended up ordering shrimp, mussels and the bread with butter. To our surprise, the shrimp were served cold (never had them like this before, but they were delicious), while the mussels were served freshly cooked in a yummy sauce. We also ended up ordering more of the bread as it just went really well with both dishes.

We've been here already two times and the both times it was very good. We choose several plates in small quantity so we can eat diferent kind of seafood. Everything was very tasty. Seadfood must be fresh. The best: you can take fresh seafood to...eat at home.
