We stopped here after seeing the sunset on the river. The place was small and cosy. Decorated with Beatles photos and the MTV played on TV was nostalgic. We ordered the sausage with olives and bread and a beer. The sausage came to our table and was lighted up in flame. Interesting way to serve grilled sausage. It went well with a cold beer. We paid 6 Euros for the sausage. The serving was enough for 2 to 3 persons. The service was excellent.
I had their Francesinha.....a Portuguese sandwich from Porto made with bread, cured ham, linguica, chipolata, roast meat and covered with melted cheese and a hot thick tomato and beer sauce! It was delicious! Customer service is also so good, lady who serve you at the front is also the cook. She was very friendly, tried to explain everything with her broken English. Great little restaurant, highly recommended!
We were on the lookout for another Francesinha before leaving Porto, and we found excellent ones here, very reasonably priced. We were welcomed by the ?owner? who was also waitress, cook, everything! It was very tasty, along with some nice Duoro wine. For us, one Francesinha was enough for two! Highly recommended.
If you are looking for an unpretentious place where to eat on this touristy avenue full of expensive and pretentious tourist traps them this is it. The place is relaxed and good value for money and the service on the evening we went was exceptionally caring and friendly (courtesy of a very nice young waitress). We left the restaurant extremely content. You could do a lot worse on this busy riverside!
