Queijaria Portuguesa

The market is an interesting place. The queijeria is not at the level of Portuguese cheese or the friendliness of the Portuguese. A pity being able to be a special place and a pity for the producers. They don't do their cheeses justice.

A marvellous mouth-watering experience. Great variety of delicious Portuguese Cheese accompanied by a glass of wine. Excellent service and a great environment. Would definitely recommend this place to anybody visiting Porto!

In a beautiful traditional market, with staggering view of the river and Porto old town, there is a place where you can taste all the Portuguese chesses. We really loved the 8 cheese tasting at Queijaria Portuguesa with Port wine. It was fantastic to discover all the delicious cheese that Portugal has.

I would not recommend it. We asked for a 4 DOP cheese table. The size and the price was ok, but the cheese were stone cold, and were obviously cut quite a while ago. I really love Portuguese cheese and the selection was not very interesting, but this is a matter of taste. For me, the worst bit was the attitude of the lady at the counter. We asked for the cheese names and she just said goat-goat-mixed-cow as if annoyed by the question. We were the only customers, by the way. Such a shame, the market is a wonderful and vibrant place and worth a visit. Just stay away from the cheese shop.
