I agree that you should get a taste of the 1974 and listen...to the story that goes with it. I also had a 20 year tawny that was very nice. They also make their own gin. We found out about this place from a server at a really good restaurant, Tasco.
We spent an hour or so here, tasting some fantastic port, guided by Fred, whose knowledge and enthusiasm elevated the experience beyond the tours and tastings offered by the better known houses. Well worth seeking out this place just a block back from the river...front. There are reasonably priced older vintages and would especially recommend tasting the historic 1974 Colheita. Thanks Fred, we will definitely return next time we are in Porto.
Great tasting room, just off the main strip, and not overrun with tourists as a result. Good ports including a few rarities, wonderful service, nice space. Since Quevedo's history is as Portuguese farmer winemakers, rather than English shippers/bottlers/exporters like the big houses, you won't find...a warehouse or winery here. This is just a tasting room, they make and store their wine where it is grown in the Douro valley 2 hours east. Still very much worth a visit though!
Brilliant family run porthouse, the team are very passionate about port! You will get a harder sell to buy something than in other places, but you will want to make a purchase because the port is so very good.
Just awesome people serving top quality port and nibbles. Really enjoyed the whole experience with our new Ukrainian and Brazilian friends. Can't praise the place enough
