Sakurai Sushi Bar - Vila Nova de Gaia

We went to Sunday dinner with some friends. It serves lunch menu (10.90€ and dinner menu (15.90€). Some of the pieces are only available for dinner and that was something I felt deceived. But still there is a wide selection of sushi for... lunch. The order is taken at the table and they bring it to your table. There are hot starters, pasta dishes included and of course Sushi and Sashimi. The staff was very nice and attentive, that is a big plus. Good location, but parking around are paid on working days.

Truly, it doesn't look like much on the outside, but inside there is a lot to look forward to. Great prices, fresh fish, a variety of classic and unique roles, and staff ready to use. I ordered the Sushi Mix (12 pieces maki and nigiri), the...Salmon and Avocado cone, and the Tobiko (salmon roe) two pieces. The Tobiko is small salmon roe instead of large, and was not as tasteful as expected, but everything was deliciously independent. Definitely a good stop for sushi during Porto!

Not the best view from outside, but very good sushi! A lot of choice and nice staff. I strongly recommend it!

Beside the take-away, this restaurant is more focused to serve sushi in. The variety is wide also includes sashimi and other chinese dishes. This is also a former chinese restaurant transformed to a sushi restaurant. Staff are nice and efficient. Maybe not the most cheaper...sushi restaurant in the area, but the quality is balanced with the price paid.
