Went for a couple of nights. Nice place, very peaceful and quiet, the rooms aren't to bad, nothing special (wasn't keen on the fact that the mini bar wasn't cold) The breakfast is basic, obviously due to it being quiet and rural. We were told the staff that do the meals had changed so maybe this is why it wasn't up to standard. We had steak but it had a lot of fat and it was a bit hard to chew, pasta which had loads of oil in the bottom, risotto was ok. I would gladly pay them kind of prices if it was good but sadly I wasn't a fan at all. Everyone has different experiences so this was mine. Sorry.
Together with my spouse we had three times dinner in the restaurant, all the times excellent. We had meat and seafood. The cooking was top and the sauces wonderful. In addition prices were reasonable.
The food and service was really excellent, the food was tasty and original, very well presented. We stayed at the hotel and loved the decor and spa.Good value for money.
We stayed at El Nodal Hotel as we wanted something away from the main tourist areas and a bit of peace and quiet. We weren't disappointed and first appearances reassured us we had chosen well. The front of the hotel is laid out with beautiful gardens and presents a colourful welcome as are the walls of the building, painted in traditional colours. Although the hotel appears to be a merger of old buildings, I suspect it was built this way to replicate something more traditional and it works. Internally, the layout is unusual with many corridors leading to rooms and public areas. It is quite unusual in appearance but very pleasing. The reception area was central and efficient with a warm welcome for guests. There is a lift for those with lots of luggage or unable to manage the stairs. Our room on the second floor was equipped with ensuite and a covered balcony with seating area. A TV was there with a few english speaking channels, air conditioning and a small safe. There was ample room to hang clothes in double wardrobes. The only thing lacking was facilities to make tea or coffee. We ate in the restaurant which provided plenty of choice but mainly traditional fare. We were pleased with both food and the service and the staff were friendly and helpful. The house red wine was lovely. Breakfast was more than adequate with fruit, cereal, hot and cold choices. This was self service and one point worth noting was that the hot options are kept warm in a less than efficient warming plate....something that could be improved. Aside from that, there wasn't much to complain about from our perspective and we felt very satisfied with our food. Looking more closely at the hotel, there are flaws. While overall I'd say the room was adequately clean, it could have been better and perhaps reflects that it's not a new hotel and may require a touch of maintenance now and again. In particular I'm referring to the bath and shower which did feel a little tired and could do with some modernisation to bring it up to boutique hotel standards. There is a spa pool and sauna but we never got round to using these facilities during our 4 days on the island. We've no regrets about staying at El Nogal and would again as it provided us a welcome break away from the more busy resorts. It was perfectly placed for those planning to visit Teide and the National park. We were very pleased overall.
