This is one of the few restaurants in Argentina where they heat the plates. The toilets were incredibly clean and they even emptied to clean your hands. A jewel for Villa General BELGRANO. Hopefully we will visit again soon.
On a hot summer day at Villa General Belgrano my wife and I stayed at Garbo for lunch. The menu was interesting and good priced, but we decided to include the speciality of the day that includes a main, a drink and a coffee. My wife had ñoquis, who were very tasty, served in a creamy white sauce with a bit of tomato sauce, which they call a mixed sauce. I had a hack Suey that had some delicious grilled vegetables and some pieces of well grilled meat. The parts were reasonable and sufficient for us. The white wine that came with the food was also good, so the coffee. The waitress was pleasant and we had a relaxed time to enjoy our lunch on the terrace. The dining room looked very nice and invites you to a romantic dinner! Garbo is a rewarding stop for lunch or dinner at Villa General Belgrano.
We went there for dinner based on the reviews. I really don't understand why this place would get a little higher than three stars. Our experience was terrible. We were the first guests for dinner. We were warmly welcomed and found the place elegant and appealing. Everything went down from there. It took 50 minutes until our food arrived. This is unacceptable. More if there are small children and you order their food first. My daughter ordered Milanesa. I'm not a cook, and I can do it in a few minutes. We didn't even get an apology for the ridiculous delay. They were made of chicken, spinach and some other ingredients. I understand it was right after Christmas, but that made us choose with few options, so you imagine that they have an additional effort not only to bring the food in a timely way, but to cook it with more zeal. The food was at best dirty. The gnocchi al pesto had no sauce and the fattyuccini al estofado was not only insipid, but had large pieces of onions and submissive carrots. A real shame when the decoration was beautiful.
Seafood casuela: mostly consisted of a certain type of shellfish that was not cleaned propely (or at all) and was full of sand and debris, and so was the whole plate. They simply don't know how to deal with seafood. Also try the sorrentinos with salmon, luckily not ordered (the extra charged) sauce would have been as a verdict by the rest... Pasta was Bland and inside was nothing but dry salmon. Cheese was an unidentified cheap supermarket cheese. The Milanesaries of children were the first time that child said that he did not like the Milanesa (so at least we had something to eat) and the frits were of the kind that is raw inside and lick yellowish oil out. we asked for paper towels to soak it. Kellner did not seem to care that we left the seafood plate practically untouched. NOT recommended. Oh, and very expensive.
Nos atendieron mal del principio con mal aspecto, la comida muy rica, el lugar lindo. Cambiaría la atención
