The owner and chef take extreme pride in every aspect of their food, and this is a classic case of where you want to just take a seat and have them bring you what they suggest. They supervise all of the meat products served in their establishment, from field to table. Both the chef and owner visited our table to explain everything. I am interested and knowledgeable about wines, and the owner allowed me to inspect all offerings, to arrive at an optimal selection. The fixed price 10 Euro lunch is probably a spectacular value. Summer outside dining is probably busy, too. On a Friday night in November, this beautiful place served only two small tables, and the table other than our's ordered very little. I have to feel for the staff when they are doing everything right, but the customers do not arrive. They talked about closing during the slow months. Please support them, and you will not be disappointed.
This is a great find. Well sited on a hill top (hence the name) with a great view of the surrounding countryside. We shared a board of salume and cheese particularly liked a cheese called Carboncino. Afterwards two of us had excellent sirloin steaks and one had steak tartare. The beef came from their own reared animals of the Piedmont breed. Very attentive service. Also the restaurant was dog friendly.
