Tanto di più non si può dire di questo ristorante che avevamo scelto perché ci piaceva di più e non perché aspettavamo una super-cucina. L'ambiente fuori nel cortile interno è molto accattivante, i piatti che abbiamo mangiato erano stagionali, cioè fimferli a go go freschi e gustosi, le dimensioni dei piatti erano tipicamente austriaci, cioè più che abbondanti ed i prezzi decisamente moderati. Una irritazione c'era subito al inizio quando chiedendo una giovane cameriera se c'era un posto per 2 libero lei ci diceva che era tutto pieno e dovevamo tornare fra un ora mentre una sua collega che aveva sentito il discorso ci diceva : "Seguitemi e scegliete uno dei 5 tavoli per due che sono tutti liberi" . Questa era l'unica cosa un pò irritante per il resto abbiamo trascorso una bella serata in un bel posto. E perché non più punti? Perché Austria è piena di questi posti accoglienti, dove si mangia assai bene per prezzi moderati e la Post non si distingue da questi né in positivo ma certamente neanche in negativo.

We reserved a table at this hotel restaurant, and it was a good job we had done so, as the place was just about full. The restaurant was more formal than most we visited in Villach, and the prices were a little higher than others, but not excessively so. The staff wore tartan uniforms, which surprised us, and they were friendly and far from haughty. The menu offered a wider choice than that in other establishments we visited in the town, and the food was well prepared and attractively presented. In former times, I suspect there was an expected dress code, but that has obviously gone by the board nowadays. Most diners had made some effort to smarten up, however, and you might feel out of place in t-shirt and shorts.

Ein Besuch in der Post lässt ein wenig die k.u.k. Zeit wieder aufleben. Es ist auf alle Fälle ein Haus mit sehr viel Flair. Vor dem Haus bzw. dem Cafe ist ein netter, straßenseitiger Gastgarten mit Blick auf die Villacher Fußgängerzone. Der Eiskaffee und andere spezielle Getränkekreationen schmeckten vorzüglich. Die Bedienung ist sehr kompetent und freundlich, die Tische nett gedeckt.

Im Rahmen eines Geschäftsessens habe ich das Restaurant “Zur Post“ kennengelernt. Sehr empfehlenswert! Jedes einzelne Essen - ob vegetarisch oder die Fleisch- und Fischgerichte- war ein Genuss. Abzug: Toiletten über Hühnerleiter im Keller, Servicepersonal zwar freundlich, aber der letzte Schliff fehlte und das Dessert wurde gestrichen, weil es nach 22 Uhr war.

Sofern ich Österreich besuche, bestelle ich typisch österreichische Gerichte.Habe diesmal das "Wiener Schnitzel" gewählt und war auch hier sehr zufrieden.Service ist sehr gut - Preis / Leistung auch.
