Pumpernickels - Village of Northport

The food at this charming restaurant has significantly improved since my last visit, and I can't wait to return! The atmosphere feels like a cozy local bar, but with a much better vibe than it had back in 1973. Importantly, the flavors are not overly modernized, which I appreciate. The place is also very clean, and the bartender, Kevin, was great – he knew people's names and was very friendly. Overall, a fantastic experience!

This restaurant offers the coziest atmosphere of all the places on the North Shore. It genuinely feels like a home away from home. We tried the Knockwurst, Bratwurst, and Veal Cordon Bleu, and everything was incredibly delicious. The staff was also very warm and welcoming. I can't wait to return!

The food was delicious, and the service was truly fantastic. Having never been there before, I’m now a huge fan! I had been missing a great German restaurant, and this is one of the two excellent German spots I've finally discovered. Coming from Brooklyn, I am spoiled by the amazing German restaurants in Queens. I highly recommend Pumpernickel in Northport!

A Northport institution. Quiet and comfortable, with tables quite far apart, which allows for a quiet conversation. We had the most charming and accommodating server, Marlene, who was there for 49 years. The saucer was delicious, like the apple strudel.

Really.amazing place! Pricey but with big portions. Don't eat the day before your arrival. You will need all the room in your stomach for the generous food order. Es ist ein Liebesgeständnis mit Fleisch und Kartoffeln nach deutscher Art.
